Study Group Lunch

YHouse has been organizing lunch talks in New York City on Wednesdays at noon, during the fall and winter period of 2016/2017. They feature open discussion about research topics of interest for the YHouse community. Typically we start by having some of us report about recent news they came across that is relevant for aspects of awareness/consciousness studies in general.

In the fall of 2016, we gathered in the Flatiron branch of Le Pain Quotidien. We met there weekly, following our first meeting on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, through Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

In the winter of 2017, we met for a while at the laboratory of Ken Perlin at New York University, on the 3rd Floor of 60 5th Avenue (NW corner of 12th St. and 5th Ave.), in Manhattan. We followed the following format: we had five speakers who each talked for five minutes, followed by five minutes of discussion, about interesting new developments in the general area of computer science, virtual realities, AI, and robotics, as well as YHouse topics in general, related to aspects of awareness/cognition.

We will continue with a similar format in the future, and we will post more information here when it becomes available.
